SHADOW SERIES SONG LIST

I based Kathryn Hammond’s voice on Jo Stafford, so a lot of the playlist contains Jo Stafford’s version of well-known tunes. One of the most popular singers of the 1940s, Jo was known as “G.I. Jo” for her popularity with the troops during the war. She had perfect relative pitch and created some of the most memorable music of the 40s, 50s, and 60s.

Other singers I listened to while writing the Shadow series were Kitty Kallen, Billie Holiday, Keely Smith, Sarah Vaughan, Helen Forrest, and Ella Fitzgerald.

The songs highlighted in red and noted as unlisted are songs that are not named specifically in the books for one reason or another but are included in the playlist because they were instrumental at some point in the writing process.

I’ve created this playlist on YouTube, and a wonderful reader has created a playlist based on the songs mentioned in the books on Spotify.
